Long Awaited Change in Farm Bill for Ranchers and Farmers

For decades, South Dakota livestock producers have advocated for country-of-origin labels, but the issue has yet to be settled. Senator Mike Rounds underlined the importance of legislators including country of origin labeling in the farm bill, which attempts to provide customers with information about the origin of their food.

Food processors are blasted for importing beef from other nations and identifying it as a “product of the United States.” He asked the department to modify their policy or face further consequences. The farm bill should be finished by the end of the year.
