Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves has declared February 11–17, 2024, to be Spring Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Entergy Mississippi is advising its customers to plan, maintain a kit on hand, and remain informed to be ready for any emergency. An EF-4 tornado that struck Entergy’s service area last spring destroyed over 700 distribution poles, causing catastrophic damage.
To be ready, Mississippians should assign out-of-town contacts, exchange emergency contact details, and, if needed, talk about other living options. Store nonperishable food, water, flashlights, first aid supplies, and a portable phone charger in a nearby kit. Get up-to-date weather information by visiting the Entergy Storm Center website, downloading an app on your smartphone, or enrolling in emergency alerts.
